Sometimes, Mondays have everyone feeling like this:

We’re throwing a bit of a curveball at our weekly update schedule and posting on Mondays for a few weeks. It’s just an experiment, we’ll see if we like that better or not. And it gives us the chance to share this poor fish whose textures... arent' quite right.

THE BIGGER THEY ARE, THE HARDER THEY… PULL?
In the demo for Kaiju Fishing, we showed off our “small” fishing. But of course the world of Kaiju Fishing doesn’t stop there. There are four size classifications in Kaiju Fishing and we’ll be working our way up the chain in the coming weeks.

Next up: Medium Fishing!

The main difference from small to medium is how the fish interacts with your boat. Medium fish are big enough (and heavy enough) to actually pull your boat through the water as you wrangle them… This means that on top of dealing with the fish’s moves, you’ll have to better manage your boat’s positioning as you get pulled through the reefs and rocks.

These fish will test your reflexes and endurance in new ways and offer better rewards as you work your way up the chain to the really big ones.

CRAFT THE PERFECT BAIT
In addition to Medium Fishing, we’re also working on new ways for you to interact with the world and land the perfect fish. This is coming in the form of crafting!

You’ll be able to collect different materials that you find and then combine them together into new baits. You can get new materials by releasing fish (and being blessed with gifts from the ocean spirit) or by gathering certain things laying around in the world.

Crafting will also give us another great opportunity: creating snacks for your pet Skipper!
