Week of June 7th, 2021

Last week, the last of our team got the vaccine and just chilled for a day or two (Spoiler: It was me.) But I’m back up to steam and ready for the new week. And hey, it’s kind of an important update!

A Year’s Worth of Updates

This is the 52nd update we’ve done on Steam so it’s been just about a year since we started chronicling our development adventures. We’ve covered a lot of ground, from discovering new fish, exploring our world’s story, and looking at the ins and outs of our mechanics behind the scenes. The game has changed a lot in just a short year and we’ve had a lot of fun sharing that experience with you all.

We have an exciting second half of the year to go which will include a new look for the store page and a big update to the Kaiju Fishing Demo. As a tease for the next chapter, here’s a look at the new art coming to the store!


The King of the Sea Returns

We’re moving up the scales and ramping quickly into... the big one. We’ve shown him before but to get to the boss mechanics we want our lizard kaiju needed some touch-ups and Sarah was more than happy to oblige. Here’s an in-development shot:


His basic design is the same but it’s all about the details to make the most epic monsters we can, plus his rig needed a little fine tuning so he can move the way we want. He’ll be in action sooner rather than later so stay tuned to watch him come to life!
